Schneor Design, product design and industrial design studio was active between the years 1982-2014.

 

Schneor Design was specializing in high-tech and consumer product industrial design and computer imaging.

 

During its activity Schneor Design adopted the ‘Form Follows Function’ principle in which the form of a product should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose and its optimal component arrangement. Leading a design process that gave emphasis on small details as well as the whole, Schneor Design led to successful and world leading contemporary professional products, taking care of product design based on requirements and user interface.

 

Schneor Design supplied services of product design management for leading industry companies. Services included product specification, SOW document, preliminary market research, assistance in finding the correct design team for the job, consultant during the industrial design, development, mechanical design phase, evaluation and testing of first round production.

 

Schneor Design was one of the first Israeli studios to integrate High-End 3D CAID (Computer Aided Industrial Design) software (Alias-Studio running on SGI workstations) in the design workflow. The use of 3D system for industrial design work was a breakthrough at that time and changed the way mechanical engineers and industrial designers interacted.

 

The economic crises that started ~2007 in Israeli high-tech industry, led to a growth of the software industry while shifting production, design and industrial design projects to outsourcing channels, mainly to the Far-East. This trend affected Schneor Design’s operation and in 2014 the studio ceased its operation.

שניאור מעצבים פעל בפיתוח ועיצוב מוצרים בין השנים 2014-1982 ועסק בהצלחה בעיצוב תעשייתי והדמייה ממוחשבת למוצרי צריכה ומוצרי הי-טק.

 

במשך השנים יישם שניאור מעצבים בהצלחה רבה את אסכולת העיצוב Form Follows Function כשהפונקציה וסידור אופטימאלי של רכיבי המוצר היוו גורם מפתח בחשיבה העיצובית. בהקפדה על עיצוב פרטים קטנים כגדולים וכניסה לעומק של מבנה המוצר והדרישות ממנו הובילו שניאור מעצבים לעיצובם של מאות מוצרים חדשניים, מקצועיים וברי תחרות בקנה מידה עולמי.

 

שניאור מעצבים ניהל את תהליך העיצוב בחברות מובילות במשק. במסגרת זו בוצעו אפיון מוצר והכנת מסמך SOW, בדיקת שוק ראשונית, ייעוץ והכוונה בנושאי בחירת צוות העיצוב המתאימים למשימה, יעוץ שוטף במהלך העיצוב / פיתוח / תכנון המוצר וביצוע ביקורות ומתן חוות דעת על סדרת הייצור הראשונה ועל הייצור הסדרתי.

 

שניאור מעצבים היה בין הראשונים בישראל שהטמיע באופן שוטף בעבודת העיצוב מערכות High-End CAID לעיצוב והדמייה תלת-ממדית ממוחשבת שפעלו על תחנות עבודה של SGI. השימוש במערכות אלו לעיצוב תעשייתי היווה בזמנו פריצת דרך והגדיר מחדש את הקשר וזרימת המידע בין העיצוב לתכנון המכני, דבר שהוא כיום מובן מאליו.

 

המשבר העמוק בכלכלה העולמית ובתעשיית ההיי-טק הישראלית בפרט שהחל ב-2007 יצר מגמה של הגדלת תעשיית התוכנה, כשבמקביל תעשיות הייצור, כולל פיתוח מוצרים ועיצוב תעשייתי עברו למיקור-חוץ והעברת פרוייקטים אל מחוץ לישראל. מגמה זו השפיעה גם על פעילותו של שניאור מעצבים, ובשנת 2014 פעולת הסטודיו הופסקה.
